CLEI (Latin-american Center for Informatics Studies) is a non profit institution comprising more than 100 universities and research centers, having as main goals to improve Computer Science research and education in the region.
The CLEI Electronic Journal (CLEIej, ISSN 0717- 5000) is the flagship publication of CLEI. CLEIej has been founded in 1998, and its current publication frequency is three issues per year.
CLEIej is a single-blind peer-reviewed journal, whose goals are to foster Computer Science research in Latin America and communicate this research to all the world. The journal is devoted to previously unpublished, original research, in Computer Science and its applications; we welcome submissions in any any topic related to these areas.
CLEIej is supported by its home institution, CLEI, and by the contribution of the Latin American and international researchers community, and it does not apply any author charges whatsoever for submitting and publishing. Since its creation in 1998, all contents are made publicly accesibly. The current license being applied is a (CC)-BY license (effective October 2015; between 2011 and 2015 a (CC)-BY-NC license was used).
Abstracted/Indexed in: DBLP (Digital Bibliography & Library Project) classified as Computer Science Journals, Latindex (Sistema Regional de Informacion en Linea para Revistas Cientificas de America Latina, el Caribe, Espana y Portugal), SciELO.uy (Scientific Electronic Library Online), DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals), and Google Scholar. It is also classified in the Brazilian Qualis evaluation system. This journal provides open access to all of its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge. Such access is associated with increased readership and increased citation of an author's article.
