Some Results on the design of Balanced Academic Curricula

Abstract

In this paper, we present mathematical programming model for designing balanced academic curricula. The solution to this model gives a curriculum where the academic load of each period is as similar as possible. Based on the use of several very efficient solving techniques, in the last years we have solved real-life instances that show the applicability of this approach.
